Frequently-Asked Questions about lesbian adventure travel

Except for a few specially-designated weeks, our vacations are for "gay men, lesbians, and friends." We believe these mixed groups offer a wonderful social atmosphere, with an opportunity to make friends with people who share your interests and your enthusiasm for the outdoors, yet who you might not meet in the normal course of your life.

We often get inquiries from women interested in one of our trips, but who have concerns about whether they'll be in a predominantly male environment. Here are answers to your most common questions.

How many lesbians come on your trips?
Currently, we have more men than women on most of our vacations. We hope that won't discourage anyone from participating. Unlike some situations -- a gay bar or club, for example -- our vacations overwhelmingly attract both men and women who are eager to interact with one another as people. We'll be happy to put you in touch with lesbians who have traveled with us in a mixed group and had a great time, even when most others in the group were men.

Of course, you might well prefer a situation where lesbians are at least half the group. Sometimes that happens: We've had groups that were as much as two-thirds women. Please give us a call, and we'll be happy to let you know if trips are forming where this seems likely to be the case.

I'd like to be in a mixed group, but I'd rather not be the only woman in a trip. What do you suggest?
We recommend that you go ahead and sign up for the trip that looks best for you. In return, we'll make this offer:

Mark your calendar to phone us about 9 weeks before the trip starts. In the unlikely event that you're the only woman signed up at that point, we'll let you switch your deposit to a different trip, or cancel entirely and we'll refund everything you've paid -- your choice.

Do you have any all-lesbian trips?
We've offered such trips from time to time, but we've had fewer reservations for trips designated for lesbians than on those for gay men, so we offer them less frequently. As interest grows, we'll continue to offer such trips.

Can I talk to women who have been on your trips?
Of course. We have a page of comments from women who have traveled with us. Many have offered to serve as references for others who are interested; please give us a call and we'll put you in touch.
