Switzerland offers some of the most beautiful mountain scenery to be found anywhere in the world. Yet a gay or lesbian traveler might quickly feel isolated in the small towns that speckle these mountains. Our Alpine holidays offer the opportunity to enjoy, and challenge yourself, in a spectacular outdoor setting, while enjoying the friendly company of a gay and lesbian group. Choose from one of these trips:
- Alpenglow. Hiking in Switzerland: Who can spend a memorable week in the Swiss Alps, hiking under the Matterhorn, without yearning to come back? Certainly none of us. This week is based at the same Zermatt location as our Edelweiss trip, but we'll largely hike on different trails, often going higher or further into the mountains. One night is spent at a mountain hut, allowing us to reach more remote locations that would be inaccessible on a day hike.
- Grindelwald. Hiking in the Swiss Alps: The Bernese Oberland is the Switzerland of chocolate-box covers and calendar illustrators. Our hiking trip is set deep in this picturesque valley. On one side rise some of the best-known alpine peaks, including the Eiger and Jungfrau. On the other side are meadows of wildflowers, forests, and mountain lakes. We'll hike into both of these alpine worlds, from the base of the soaring Eiger to the green pastures of spotted brown cows, steel bells jingling as they gorge on a never-ending brunch.
