Switzerland offers some of the most beautiful mountain scenery to be found anywhere in the world. Yet a gay or lesbian traveler might quickly feel isolated in the small towns that speckle these mountains. Our Alpine holidays offer the opportunity to enjoy, and challenge yourself, in a spectacular outdoor setting, while enjoying the friendly company of a gay and lesbian group. Choose from one of these trips:
- Edelweiss. Hiking in the Swiss Alps: From our base in the bustling alpine village of Zermatt, explore 388 kilometers of spectacular and well-marked trails. One day, hike past fields of wildflowers and tall waterfalls; the next, take a cablecar to the frosty world of a mountain glacier.
- Alpenglow. Hiking in Switzerland: Hiking under the Matterhorn is a classic adventure with a variety of pleasures. Our base camp (condo) is in the beautiful city of Zermatt. A charming place of fresh mountain air and a world without cars. Perfectly situated in the foothills of the Alps, there are numerous well-marked footpaths and trails (400 km in all) which will lead us through pine-scented mountain forests, to the shores of calm clear lakes and to the ice-blue glaciers. We’ll spend a week exploring the trails and sleep one night in a mountain hut, allowing us to climb higher and awake in the rosy glow of the morning sun-Alpenglow.
- Grindelwald. Hiking in the Swiss Alps: Hike in the Alps of chocolate-box covers and calendar illustrators. Using the mountain village of Grindelwald as a base, we'll explore the mountains and glaciers, the pastures and meadows, of this picturesque valley.
