Overview
Trek, spelunk and explore the countryside of Southeast Asia with a great gay group. |
|
See the wild side of Laos and Thailand. We have offered trips to Thailand for several years, and each time we return, we get requests to explore more of Southeast Asia. Whether trekking further out in the Thai countryside or visiting neighboring countries, we continue to be fascinated by the variety and beauty of the area. After a successful inaugural Bamboo trip to Laos and Thailand in 2003-2004, we are repeating this trip over Christmas and New Years, 2004-5, starting and ending in Bangkok. Getting off the beaten track is one of our trademarks and Laos and the National Parks of Central Thailand offer a whole new world to discover. We will tour the ancient and glorious city of Luang Prabang, Laos, take a bike and boat trip to see the many small Buddha statues of the Pac Ou Caves, and spend two nights in small native villages sleeping in local homes. Then we fly back to Bangkok Airport, and drive into the countryside where we spend five days exploring two National Parks that feature exquisite mountain lakes and waterfalls, and nearby provincial towns that foreign visitors rarely see. We conclude our trip with New Years Eve celebrations in Bangkok, a favorite destination for gay travelers due to the relaxed and accepting culture. For those with more time, we also are offering a three day extension to the resort town of Pattaya, famous for its beaches, natural beauty, and gay nightlife. Highlights:
